Rena & Greg; Brooklyn Botanic Garden

If there is a NYC wedding location we have filmed more than the Lighthouse at Chelsea Piers, it would probably have to be the Brooklyn Botanic Garden! This is definitely a good thing as it is one of our favorite places to film with the amazing backdrop for photos/video, great food and wonderful staff, it's always a pleasure to work there.

Rena and Greg met in college and took that romance all the way to under the Chuppah at the Brooklyn Botanic Gardens where they exchanged vows! The beautiful ceremony came after they took photos with family and the wedding party amidst the lush backgrounds the gardens provided.

The party was non-stop dancing as the young crowd never slowed down and was highlighted with a toast from the couple to their friends and with Rena dancing on stage with the band! To view their TAS signature recap, please click here!

Juliana & Matt; Pine Hollow Country Club

Whether it was their Ketubah signing, photo session, ceremony, first dance or cake cutting, the couple was all smiles all the time!

Kerri-Lynn and Patrick, The Stamford Yacht Club

If I were to pick the wedding of 2011 that was most fun, this would have to be it. While most of our weddings are fun, this one took the proverbial cake. From minute one there were smiles and laughs all the way to the last dance of the night.

We caught up with Kerri-Lynn and Patrick getting ready in their homes before heading to St. Pius X Church in Fairfield for the ceremony. After the ceremony in which the talkative Kerri-Lynn actually became speechless- the couple and their friends hopped in a party bus for photo-ops along the way to the Stamford Yacht Club.

At the Stamford Yacht Club, the wedding party did a quick boat ride before everyone returned for drinks, dancing, more drinks, more dancing and an over abundance of fun! Click here to watch the TAS signature recap!

Kevin and Gina, The Hudson Hotel

It was obvious to me that Gina was a cheerleader at some point in her life, as her energy and excitement were infectious! Tim Alan Smith filmed her getting ready with one of our favorite NYC wedding photographers Bia Sampaio in the master bedroom suite.

The Hudson Hotel is the PERFECT spot if you are looking for an intimate NYC wedding with stunning views. The rooftop looks to be limited to about 80 guests but if your plans include small guest list and you want NYC and unbeatable views, THIS is the place!

After an emotional first look, the couple took photos and readied for the ceremony, which was fantastic on the rooftop. Afterwards it was cocktail hour and a night of toasts, dancing and fun.

Chris & Andrea, Southampton

Chris and Andrea decided to get married on what turned out to be OUR most popular day, in which we filmed 4 weddings!

They got ready in separate spots with the bride getting her finishing wedding day touches at the American Hotel in Sag Harbor before heading to the Dune Church in Southampton. We have filmed at the Dune Church before and it is one of the most intimate and beautiful spaces to exchange vows.

The couple then headed to B. Smith's in Sag Harbor after the ceremony and photo session for a night of fun with friends and family. Click here to see their recap!

Uma & Jason; Studio 450 NYC

Uma and Jason live steps from the Highline park in NYC, so naturally we decided that would be a great spot for a wedding photo and video shoot. Al from Catherine Leonard Photography in NYC was the lead photographer and got some great shots of the happy couple. It would be the first of two Saturdays in a row that we were fortunate to work with Al and his staff! In the world of NYC weddings, it is sometimes quite a small world and we find ourselves working with some of the best week after week!

After our trip to the Highline, the couple went back to their apartment to change before taking a short car ride to Studio 450 for the elaborate and fun Indian wedding ceremony followed by cocktails. The room was breathtaking with candles in front of EVERY seat and the guests could not believe the fantastic views that the floor to ceiling windows of Studio 450 gave them.

The rock band The Nerds- not normally a wedding band- came out and had the guests rocking and rolling. A surprise set by Jason on guitar had his new bride cheering from the front row like a rock groupie and the rest of the guests wildly applauding. All and all a fun night and the recap can be seen here.

Shawn and Vanessa; Amagansett

It's always a long drive when Tim Alan Smith videography has to film out in the Hamptons or North Fork, but it's usually worth the trip after getting to the beautiful locales. Shawn and Vanessa's wedding was no different. After arriving at Vanessa's family home in Amagansett and getting a couple of shots of the bride, we headed over to the private beach close by to set up for the ceremony.

It was here that the couple exchanged their vows in front of a small group or family and friends and the surging Atlantic Ocean before heading back to the house for a night of partying! Photographer Michael Gross from Brooklyn got some great shots during the first of two cocktail hours (one on the beach and one at the house!) while Tim Alan Smith caught a stray skinny dipper! (watch video for proof!)

The food was AMAZING- with a seafood theme catered by Insatiable Eats- and the music didn't let up, even during the meal, as people snuck off for dancing.

Joann & Tom's Wedding, The Lighthouse at Chelsea Piers

There are few places that Tim Alan Smith NYC wedding videography has filmed more over the years than the Lighthouse at Chelsea Piers. It seems like we have a few weddings there every year, yet it never gets old! What a GREAT spot for a classic NYC wedding! The views of the Hudson River are spectacular as your guests dine and enjoy the wedding festivities!

Tom and Joann- one of my favorite couples of the year- sure had an amazing day at the Lighthouse! They saw each other for the first time a couple hours before the ceremony and then took pictures with wedding photographer Ellie M of NYC, who was a pleasure to work with!

The ceremony was held with the river as a backdrop and then it was off to a night of partying. The party included the first dance, toasts and dancing of course but also included fun traditions such as the Polish bread and salt as well as the shot of water or vodka taken by the couple which decided who would be the one wearing the pants in the marriage! All and all, a VERY fun night!

Lindsey and Adam; Tappan Hill

Lindsey and Adam met in college and took that romance all the way to their wedding day at Tappan Hill in Tarrytown!

Tappan Hill has amazing views as backdrops, which the couple took full advantage of while exchanging their vows! We also enjoyed working with photographer Ryan Brenizer who did an amazing job capturing the couple throughout the day!

Another highlight for me was getting to see my May 27 couple, Lauren and Dave- who got married at Bridgewaters in NYC!

After that, it was off to the reception where great toasts, food and dancing prevailed.

Justini & David; Hildene, Manchester, VT

Justini and David decided to pack up and leave NYC for a destination wedding in Manchester, Vermont! They picked the last weekend in August which was also the weekend the hurricane chose to arrive on the east coast, but the couple didn't let a few raindrops dampen their spirits as most of the day turned out to be beautiful! With the mountain backdrop for the outdoor wedding, the couple had the time of their lives! A late summer day in NYC is about the best time for a wedding, so Robin and Darin had a beautiful Saturday in September to exchange vows and enjoy the NYC backdrop! The couple saw each other before the ceremony because they were doing photos with Kellie from 4 Eyes Photography and video with Tim Alan Smith. Central Park footage and shots make any NYC wedding album shine and this was no exception! After the photo session, the couple signed the Ketubah and spent a night partying with friends and family inside the Harmonie Club, an amazing space for a NYC wedding! Tanya and Anu got married at the beautiful Bridgeview Yacht Club in Island Park with views that wouldn't stop, no matter what angle we chose to shoot! What made the day even better is that we got to work with one of our favorite NYC wedding photographers, Gulnara, who always makes things fun AND gets great shots too! (Photo above!)

We have shot NYC area Indian weddings over the years, but this was unique in that they also had a Christian ceremony early in the day! So the bride and groom had different sets of clothes for different parts of the day which made it even more interesting to film for Tim Alan Smith!

Chris and Gillian, St Francis Xavier and W Union Square

Chris and Gillian had a beautiful day to get married in NYC, starting at the W Union Square where they got ready before heading to St Francis Xavier a few blocks west for the ceremony. After the ceremony, the wedding party headed to Washington Square Park for photos with the amazing Robin Roemer before heading back to the W for a night of partying. Brigid and Andy had an amazing wedding day that started with Tim Alan Smith filming the girls getting ready at Brigid's house, just about a mile away from St. Joseph's church, where she would soon exchange vows with Andy. Kellie Walsh from 4 Eyes Photography- one of the best wedding photographers in NYC- was there to capture the excitement as well. Andy got ready at the Garden City Hotel where the wedding reception would later be held before heading over to St. Joseph to see his beautiful bride. After the emotional ceremony, the couple spent time at Brigid's house getting photos before heading over to the Garden City Hotel for a night they would not soon forget!

Tilly's Bat Mitzvah: Guastavino's NYC

Tilly's Bat Mitzvah at Guastavino's Wedding and party event space in NYC was FUN! Once the dance floor opened, the kids never left it! The day started at Temple Emanu-El in NYC with Tilly doing her Torah reading before she headed home and to the salon to get ready for the big night at Guastavino's. Michele from Mary Giuliani catering did an amazing job of setting up the space and making sure the event flowed smoothly! Tim Alan Smith videography hadn't been to Guastavino's since they closed down the restaurant portion years back and made it exclusively an event space. I can see why as it will certainly fill up with NYC weddings and other social events. As far as Tilly, I'm not sure if she has yet to leave the dance floor!

Knot Featured Wedding: Bedell Cellars

We are excited to see photos by Brian Dorsey Studios from a wedding we filmed last fall at Bedell Cellars in Cutchogue featured in a recent issue of the Knot magazine!

Adriana and Josh were a great couple and had an amazing day, photographed by Brian Dorsey Studios. The music was by Hank Lane while the flowers and planning were done by one of my favorites, Claire Bean, while Tim Alan Smith provided the video coverage. Although we are based in NYC we enjoy filming in the North Fork and the Hamptons and find ourselves out there often every year.

Sheila & Kevin: Restaurant Daniel and Hotel Athenee; New York, NY

It helped me just a little bit to learn that Kevin was as huge a baseball fan as I am on the day that Derek Jeter reached 3000 hits. I was supposed to go to the game but the wedding came first. Kevin and I enjoyed watching on parts of the historic game on TV in his suite at the Hotel Athenee while Sheila got ready in the next room! Once he saw her in her dress, Kevin was amazed how great she looked in the gown that Sheila's 13 year old daughter had picked out a few months earlier!

I filmed the couple at the wonderful Hotel Athenee- rated one of the top hotels in the world- before heading over to the famous Restaurant Daniel for an intimate wedding ceremony. On the way over we took advantage of the area to get some nice photos and video of the in the streets of NYC.

At Daniel, the bat above was there for guests to sign for the couple before their intimate ceremony and ensuing cocktails and dinner. With the help of Derek Jeter's hit and the bat they had guests signed, their wedding will always be connected to America's pastime!

Rachael & Michael: The New York Botanical Garden, The Stone Mill

Everyone thought it was going to rain when Rachael and Michael tied the knot last month, but mother nature held out and let the couple exchange vows in front of a babbling brook at the New York Botanical Gardens.

The couple signed the Ketubah soon after I arrived inside the Stone Mill before the beautiful ceremony. Fantastic NYC wedding photographer Beth Keiser was there to document the day and took many great shots including one of the ceremony from a faraway bridge that will be sure to be one of the couple's favorites

After breaking the glass and kissing as man and wife, Rachael and Mike led their guests to the Snuff Mill for delicious appetizers and refreshing drinks before a reception upstairs that won't soon be forgotten! Greg & Renee: The Manhattan Penthouse & St. John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church

We're becoming regulars at the Manhattan Penthouse, where Greg and Renee had their wedding reception last month after a beautiful ceremony at St. John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church near Union Square. The beautiful bride and handsome groom were married at the church with the ceremonial crowning being a highlight.

The couple was all smiles all day and even had time to grab Shake Shack burgers during the photo session with Erik Freeland after the ceremony.

The Manhattan Penthouse is a always a great place for a NYC wedding reception with sweeping views of the best city in the world as well as the perfect space for a party fit for a newly minted couple! While dancing is a key part to most weddings, this one could be our number one dance wedding we've filmed all year, with the traditional Greek dances mixed in with American favorites to keep everyone smiling and moving all night! The Tim Alan Smith signature recap uses the song we actually used for a January wedding at the Manhattan Penthouse because Renee is such a big fan of it!

Lauren & David; Trinity Church & Bridgewaters, NYC

If it weren't for my friend Howard's birthday party last fall, I may never have even met Lauren and David, but I am glad I did! The couple had a beautiful wedding at historic Trinity Church followed by a reception at one of my favorite locations- Bridgewaters in the Southstreet Seaport.

I started the day with my assistant Andrea at the Wall Street Inn where Dave was getting ready before heading over to the couple's apartment a block away to get some footage of Lauren before her first meeting with Dave. When the couple saw each other for the first time, it was clear that this was meant to be and soon after we were at Trinity Church where they were exchanging vows in front of friends, family and any tourist who happened to walk in!

After the ceremony, the guests headed to rooftop of the couple's apartment for cocktails while Tim Alan Smith got some footage of Lauren and David by the Seaport. After that, all headed to Bridgewaters for a night of revelry that included some funny and poignant toasts, an authentic British "flyover", a beautiful song by the bride's friend Bronwyn and non-stop dancing!

A Note from a recent bride....

Dear Tim,

We finally arrived from Miami this weekend and Don and I have had a chance to see the video. Well, we’ve laughed, cried, and were generally amazed at the sensitivity of your editing (it was not an easy job to integrate these two very different events.) You captured the ceremony, the toasts, the love, the dancing and every cherishable moment. The black and white treatment at the end was absolutely perfect.

I shared it yesterday with my business partner, Carolyn Wall, who ran Fox 5 here for Murdoch for many years. She was very impressed with your work. Expect a call from us for some corporate work in the near future.

As for Don and I, some guests have requested copies of the video and believe it or not, it is circulating within his office (how often does that happen with a wedding video!)

Big Apple Finalist: International Special Events Society

For the third year in a row, Tim Alan Smith is proud do announce that we are a finalist in the prestigious International Special Events Society's Big Apple Awards. This year's gala will be held at the New York Times Center Event space and will feature the "Whose Who" of the event world. In 2009 and 2010 we were proud to be honored with the Big Apple Award for "Best NYC Event Video" and we look forward to going for three in a row this year!

Tim & Kerrie, Bryant Park Grill, NYC

We recently had the chance to film Tim and Kerrie's wedding at the Bryant Park Grill in NYC. It was all smile all day as the happy couple took photos and greeted family and friends before the ceremony on the Bryant Park Grill rooftop. With views of the beautiful park and NYC, the couple exchanged vows as light rain greeted them towards the end. The rain didn't dampen their spirits and Tim Alan Smith NYC wedding video captured all the fun throughout the day. Molly's Bat Mitzvah: Kiss & Fly, NYC

Molly's Bat Mitzvah last month was a non-stop party at trendy meat packing district club, Kiss & Fly, where the kids arrived to a wonderland created by Melissa Rosenbloom of Gourmet Advisory Services, whose food was also impossible to top!

Molly started her day with her Torah reading and then did family photos in her apartment with Michael Jurick before heading down to Kiss & Fly about 5:00. Her first order of business was to practice her guitar solo- Stuck Like Glue by Sugarland- which she later performed to raucous applause and cheers!

Marc Jason from Total Entertainment was there to make sure the party never stopped, and with the emcee, dancers and other entertainment, the kids were never bored for a minute!

Other highlights from the night included touching toasts by Molly's cousins and parents/brother, Molly's dance moves and all the nice things friends had to say to Molly at the end of the night!

Tim Alan Smith videography was glad to be there to film such as an incredible NYC Bat Mitzvah!

Sabrina & Jonathan: Brooklyn

Sabrina & Jonathan had rain in the forecast but the weather held up as long as it needed to last month with their wedding at Rasputin in Brooklyn. The couple got ready in DUMBO before having a "first look" in front of Jon's mother's apartment where Sabrina and her friend's got ready. It was then off to the river for photos (Ryan from Lavine Events) and fun before an unplanned break at the Heights Cafe to kill time before the limos arrived for the ride to Rasputin in Coney Island.

At Rasputin, an overflowing feast was served during cocktail hour before the guests took their seats at their tables to watch the emotional ceremony of Sabrina and Jon given by an uncle on each side. Following the ceremony, the couple made a dramatic entrance from the balcony above before non-stop dancing and a very fun Horah. (photo above). Toasts were a highlight but none better than when Sabrina and Jonathan read an e-mail exchange between them the first few weeks and months that they knew each other!

Other highlights included the always-fun photo booth, the garter/bouquet Sabrina's friend Daniella, who seemed to be in the middle of everything! All and all a night that won't soon be forgotten!

Brooke & Adam; Ritz Carlon, Westchester

When Brooke and Adam got married April 16, the rain never dampened their spirits as they were all smiles all day! The couple got ready in separate rooms at the Ritz Carlton in Westchester before an emotional "first look" in the hotel's hallway, where they saw each other for the first time. Before the ceremony, the couple was filmed by TAS videogrpahers Jason and Jimmy and photographed before getting ready for the beautiful Jewish ceremony. After the ceremony it was cocktail hour and a reception that included the Horah, a first dance, toasts, dancing, a cake-cutting and plenty of smiles of course!

Tim Alan Smith films the Hamptons Wedding Affair

Tim Alan Smith wedding videography films weddings in the Hamptons and the North Fork every year so it only made sense for me to make the trip out to Greenport on Saturday to check out the excellent show put on by Well Wed magazine. The Hamptons Wedding Affair was held at the magnificent Brecknock Hall where any bride and groom would feel like a royal if given the chance to be married there. I had never filmed here before but recently filmed North Fork favorites such as the Peconic Bay Winery, Bedell Cellars, Martha Clara Vineyards, and Wollfer Estates to name a few.

At the show I caught up with wedding colleagues I've met over the years while meeting plenty of new people as well. Highlights include being given a free night at the Hotel Indigo in Riverhead, eating delicious appetizers and sweets, listening to great music by a live band, watching a fantasic bridal gown show and enjoying a cotton candy martini or two!

I brought my camera along of course and got some footage from the day that I put together below as a recap of the day for Well Wed, which you will be able to see on the Well Wed blog and website. Enjoy!

Hillel and Rachel, April 10, Temple Emanu-El

When you watch the video recap below, you may think I was trying to be funny, poking fun at the institution of marriage, but the song was actually chosen by Rachel and Hillel. While getting married is certainly "the end of the world as you know it", it changes for the better most of the time!

If their fun party and spirit all day is any indication, they are in store for a lifetime of happiness.

When I arrived with assistant, Louise, the couple were busy getting photos in front of Temple Emanu-El, where they were set to have an Orthodox Jewish wedding ceremony. Soon after photos, the couple and their guests headed to cocktail hour with Hillel and friends doing the sacred Tisch prayers while Rachel readied herself for the Bedekken in the bridal suite.

Hillel arrived with his friends to unveil his bride at the Bedekken and the Ketubah was signed and then all headed into the Temple for the beautiful ceremony performed by Hillel's father.

After the ceremony, the couple was introduced and the Horah commenced, with clapping, cheering, smiles and dancing all around with a spirited performance by the Jewish wedding band, Nafshenu. Ravi & Chee: April 16, Napa Valley, CA

When my good friend Ravi told me he was getting married in Napa, I could hardly wait to be there to help celebrate the big day. Ravi and Chee took time planning the perfect weekend with an intimate group of family and friends. We all stayed at the quaint La Residence in Napa where wine and cheese were served promptly at six each day. They started the weekend off right with an all-day wine tour Friday where we explored 4 famous Napa vineyards as well as some of their best wines before having an amazing dinner at Don Giovanni's. A highlight for me in addition to the wine and Italian food was seeing Ravi's parents for the first time in ages and having his dad inform me that "you broke my house" in reference to a an errant chair leg that caused damage while helping Ravi move 7 years earlier!

The wedding day was glorious and my girlfriend Kristin and I took advantage of the locale by heading out early for a few more wine tastings before returning to the Inn after lunch to get ready. We piled in the coach to take us to Brix Restaurant just down the road where the wine flowed as we waited for the other guests to arrive. The bride came last and all were wowed by her beautiful dress as she walked from the restaurant to the private garden ceremony by the vineyard in the back. All guests helped create Chee's bouquet by handing her individual flowers as her father walked her down the aisle.

The ceremony was short but definitely sweet and then we enjoyed more wine and amazing appetizers (another spring roll please) by the vineyard before heading inside for more great food and wine. Ravi and Chee found each married couple's wedding song and played it so they could enjoy their dance again while I performed a lip synch routine for the guests to Harry Connick's "In Love". Fortunately for me, I was the one behind the camera all weekend so no evidence of this exists!

Other highlights at Brix was the amazing individual cakes at each table that I could hardly wait all meal to eat and chance meetings with NFL star QB Carson Palmer and designer Michael Kors, who called the groom "dapper".

From there it was back to the couple's villa where a post-party commenced and the song you will hear on the recap was played no less than 25 times.....Enjoy!

Karina & James had a nice January Saturday for the wedding last month at the Judson Memorial Church followed by the reception at the Manhattan Penthouse. Karina started the day off getting ready in her apartment where Tim Alan Smith videographer, Jason, filmed her along with photographers Rupert and Kellie of 4 Eyes Photography. She then headed down near Washington Square Park where she saw an excited James for the first time. It was then photos before the ceremony at Judson Memorial Church. The sweeping views of NYC and the Hudson River were a beautiful backdrop for what turned out to be a great day. Event planner Shawn Rabideau and his staff made sure everything went off without a hitch while NYC wedding photographers Rupert and Kellie from 4 Eyes Photography captured everything that unfolded throughout the day.

Kyra's Sweet 16; Soiree in Manhattan

Although we mostly film weddings, we also will film birthdays, bar mitzvahs and other family gatherings and special occasions when the client wants it professionally documented.

Kyra's Sweet 16 in Manhattan at Club Soiree was one such event. The kids were non-stop all night on the dance floor and enjoyed all the special treats and activities that Kyra and her parents had set up to help make the party such a success!

Event planner Brandy Carbone of B Lee Events did a great job organizing the event and photographer Julie Stapen did an excellent job getting photos all night.

Mary & Chris: Bridgewaters NYC

Last month we had the pleasure to film Chris and Mary's wedding at Bridgewaters in the South Street Seaport. Tim Alan Smith is becoming a regular at Bridgewaters with a few weddings in 201o and even more in 2011 on the books! It's a great space for a wedding with sweeping views of the Seaport and the bridges/boats that are nearby.

We started the day filming the couple at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Brooklyn before they made their way back to Manhattan for photos with Dan Loh, one of my favorite NYC photographers!

The party highlights included spirited toasts, bagpipers from the FDNY and non-stop dancing. We look forward to finishing the full edit and many more trips to Bridgewaters in 2011 and beyond!

I had the pleasure of filming Bree & Andy's fun filled wedding day in Washington D.C. in November, in the shadows of the White House at the famous Decatur House.

I started my day by meeting Bree and her bridesmaids and family at her apartment in Virginia. The excitement was in the air as I filmed the girls getting ready and I was happy to catch up with Bree's parents and sister, Jill, whose wedding I filmed in 2008.

After piling into a vintage car for the ride over to the beautiful Church of the Holy City in downtown D.C., I caught up with Tim Alan Smith's other wedding videographer, Jason, who was filming Andy and the boys at the church.

The ceremony was far from traditional but one of the most romantic and emotional I have attended, with the couple exchanging personal and funny vows, before skipping down the aisle- handmade bouquets all around- to meet and greet their friends and family at the back of the church.

It was then off to the Decatur House wedding, where Tim Alan Smith was able to get great footage of the couple and their friends in front of the White House, before they headed in for a night of revelry! All and all, this was a unique, fun Washington D.C. wedding that won't soon be forgotten!

Adriana & Josh; Bedell Cellars, The North Fork

Adriana and Josh could not have had a more beautiful day at one of the North Fork's best Vineyards, Bedell Cellars. The couple got ready separately in rooms at the Harborfront Inn in Greenport, before a romantic "first look" by the water. Awesome NYC photographer Brian Dorsey joined Tim Alan Smith to photo and video the couple by the water and other spots around Bedell before an incredible ceremony, with the vineyard as the backdrop, commenced.

East End Floral and Event Designer Claire Bean was there to make sure everything looked just right and flowed as it should and the couple enjoyed hours of dancing, toasts and great music with friends and family from far and wide.

Kyoko and Rob; Peconic Bay Winery

Kyoko and Rob were married with Peconic Bay as a backdrop at the Vineyard with that name in a beautiful ceremony in front of friend and family late September. The day started with the couple getting ready at the main house in separate areas so not to see each other before the beautiful bride walked down the aisle.

Kyoko's dog Morris was the center of attention and also the ring bearer, which is not a surprise as Kyoko is one of the top dog groomer's in NYC!

Matthew & Jenny; Rockleigh Country Club; NJ

Jenny & Matthew had beautiful wedding at the Rockleigh Country Club a few weeks ago and Tim Alan Smith NYC wedding videographer was there to document it! When I arrived, photographer Kristine Foley was taking family photos near the main entrance so I joined in to get some footage of the gathering.

The couple soon was signing the Ketubah before walking down the aisle in front of friends and family and exchanging vows and rings.

The cocktail hour at the Rockleigh Country Club was amazing and the guests enjoyed a wide variety of food and drink before heading into the main ballroom for a night of fun that won't soon be forgotten. Because the couple was from NJ, there was a heavy dose of Bruce Springsteen from Play by Play of Faze 4 Orchestras and Entertainment of course, so I continued that theme with the recap below. Enjoy!

Shannon started her wedding day at the St. Regis Hotel in midtown where she got ready with her family and bridesmaids surrounding her before taking a shuttle to The Cathedral Basilica of St. James in Brooklyn to wed her waiting groom, Vinnie. Vinnie was quite excited as he waited patiently for his bride, whom he had known and dated over ten years! If there were any doubts, on the way to the church they were vanquished when Shannon's father saw a license plate at a traffic light that said "ShanVin".

After the ceremony, the wedding party took shuttles to DUMBO and the Brooklyn Bridge Park for photos with Karen Hill (her photos posted above!) and video with Tim Alan Smith, where we had the incredible Manhattan skyline as the backdrop. After that, the bride and groom hoofed it the short distance to ReBar, where they spent the night dancing, laughing and enjoying their wedding experience!

On a sunny October afternoon, I made the trip to the beautiful North Fork area and spent the day filming Haley's Bat Mitzvah celebration at Martha Clara Vineyards. We film a few Bat Mitzvahs a year and it's always great to capture the kids having such a good time. Haley was no exception as she was all smiles all day and made her grand entrance doing flips and hand springs to the great delight of friends and family.

Working with floral and event designer Claire Bean was also great and she did a masterful job organizing the event and making it look amazing! Photographer Mark K from David Vaughan photography was also fun to work with and we look forward to working with both on more NYC and Hamptons weddings and Bat/Bar Mitzvahs soon!

Last month I had the pleasure of filming the wedding of Michael and Ron at East Hampton Point. When I arrived, Michael and Ron were not there so I was able to get a few establishing shots of the beautiful locale. It was then off to film the couple get ready with photographer David Vaughan, who took some amazing shots on the day.

Michael and Ron signed the ketubah and mingled with friends before heading to the rooftop with sweeping views of the water for the ceremony. The wind managed to grab Ron's yarmulke a couple of times but other than that it went perfectly and the happy couple headed downstairs with friends and family for cocktails and an afternoon of fun!

Emily & Nathaniel, two nights of fun: The Terrace in the Sky and the Housing Works Bookstore

I had the unique opportunity recently to film a wedding that started on Sunday afternoon at the Location 5 in Tribeca and Terrace in the Sky for cocktails and toasts and finished on Monday night at the Housing Works Bookstore Cafe in Soho for cake and dancing.

Nathaniel and Emily and contacted me a few weeks before their wedding and I was happy to be able to film the unique NYC wedding! The couple got ready in separate locations before Emily crossed the street with her bridesmaids and surprised the excited Nathan with her beautiful dress and piano solo and song during the ceremony!

After the ceremony, the couple took a few photos in a vintage taxi they rented for the day before taking the lengthy drive north to the Terrace in the Sky where cocktails and toasts continued the celebration.

The couple decided to hold off on cake and dancing until the following night when they invited other friends and wore more casual outfits while drinking wine and beer and dancing the night away to favorites played by a DJ hidden amongst the books. What a night- er two nights- to remember!

Keeping Busy: Locales we have filmed at recently in NYC and the surrounding area

We have been SO busy filming lately that keeping up with the blog has been tough!

Some of the great spots we have filmed include Terrace in the Sky by Columbia University where I personally filmed back-to-back weddings on June 27 and July 4! In the 10 years I have filmed in NYC I had never filmed there and then had the pleasure of filming on back-to-back Sundays!

Other Manhattan wedding sites we filmed recently include the stately Roosevelt Hotel, The Glass Houses, the Yale Club and the Tribeca Rooftop!

Another beautiful but VERY secluded place for a wedding is the Skyland Manor in a state park in Ringwood NJ. Be sure to bring your GPS but the views and ambiance make it worthwhile!

We also shot at the Glen Cove Mansion on June 27 which is also where the groom for our July 3 wedding got ready with his groomsmen! A beautiful wedding with perfect spots for an outdoor ceremony, the Glen Cove Manor is a great place for a wedding if you want to stray from Manhattan. The July 3 wedding was held at Crescent Beach Club where it felt like we had been transported to Jamaica!

We have been keeping busy and hope to get some highlight clips of these weddings and more up on the blog soon!

Whether it's a last-minute change of heart or a sudden change in the budget, we have been getting a lot of requests from brides and grooms at the very last minute for wedding video. "Last-minute" to some when it comes to weddings may mean six months from the day of the wedding, but I'm talking about a week, two weeks even two days before the wedding day! Elliot and Loryn's Wedding: Shelter Rock (Party of Two?)

A few months ago, I had the rare privilege of both filming and attending a wedding as a guest on the same day. My friend Elliot from college was marrying Loryn at the Shelter Rock Jewish Center in Roslyn and they hired us to film the big day. I took along two other videographers who took over for me after the ceremony was done so I could enjoy the festivities. Some of the fun I had included helping to lift Elliot during the Horah, catching up with many friends and some former clients who were attending the wedding and enjoying the great food and drink that flowed all night! As a NYC wedding videographer, we have had plenty of opportunities to film amazing weddings in and around NYC. While we have been able to post highlights of some of these weddings individually both on the blog and the Tim Alan Smith website, we have never created one highlight with shots from an assortment of weddings. Well, that's changed as of now! After a massive undertaking that included viewing hundreds of master tapes, we have put together some of our favorite shots to Cold Play's "Viva La Vida". Well Wed Magazine Wedding Show in Southampton

Last Saturday I spent the day at the Well Wed Magazine wedding show in Southampton. The show was a collection of wedding industry professionals that works in the Hamptons as well as couples planning upcoming weddings. I was part of the Robbins Wolfe catering booth, which I lent a hand to by bringing out a flat screen TV to project some of amazing photos of their events shot by Hamptons/NYC Wedding photographer David Vaughan. I met many new people and was also able to catch up with others such such as Hamptons/NYC wedding photographers Aga and Marcin or Aga Images as well as celebrity event planner Jill Gordon (who did an excellent presentation to couples about planning a wedding), Tiffany from the Bridgehampton Tennis & Surf Club and many more.

Although Tim Alan Smith is primarily a NYC wedding videography company, we film often in the Hamptons with shoots at Wolffer Estate Vineyards, the Meadow Club, Saint Andrew's Dunes Church, Shinnecock Hills to name a few. Are outtakes just for Hollywood? No Way!

We really try to capture ALL of the important moments of the day, which are not limited to just the big ones such as vows, toasts, first dance etc. As a NYC wedding videographer, I have had plenty of experience capturing the planned moments of the wedding day but it's the off-the-cuff moments that make your day unique that we have a knack for capturing as well. Many of these shots make it into the regular part of the video but the funny/quirky ones make it into my signature outtakes sequence at the end of the film. Two Cameras? Should we film getting ready? Why is getting great audio so important?

For most of brides, this will be the first and only time you have to worry about hiring a NYC wedding videographer. It's OK if you don't know what to ask about video or even if you're not really sure what you want. A lot of times I get asked if two cameras are needed or if it's important to film the getting ready time. I'm also asked how we capture audio- especially during the vows- so not one important word is missed.

In the short clip below you will see a NYC wedding video excerpt from a wedding we filmed in 2009 at NYC's famed St. Regis Hotel and St. Ignatius Loyola Church NYC on the upper east side. While I don't always think 2 cameras are necessary, you will see why having 2 at a Catholic ceremony is important. Also, you will hear the great dialogue between bride and friends getting ready that photos won't do justice. My favorite part, though, is the emotional vows and how- even 40 to 50 feet away- we capture every word and whisper with the discreetly placed wireless microphone in the groom's coat pocket. Enjoy!

Last week I had the pleasure of a new kind of shoot when NYC wedding planner-friend Kim Pilson's daughter, Sylvie, celebrated her 6th birthday! I caught up with mom and daughter and a bunch of 5 and 6 year old's at a fun spot in our UES neighborhood. They never stopped smiling the whole night as pizza, face-painting, the limbo, a pinata and dancing kept them busy!

I think even my mailman called in sick on Saturday with forecasts of two feet of snow or more, but when NYC wedding videographer Tim Alan Smith commits to a wedding, it would take more than cold, white flakes to keep him away!

I also have know the bride Heidi since we worked together at the Olympics in Athens over 5 years ago so I was looking forward to seeing her on her wedding day! Heidi didn't disappoint when I caught my first glimpse of her waiting in the back of a car outside St. John's Church in quaint Cold Spings Harbor, NY. The snow was coming down but most of the guests had arrived and were seated in the cozy church to watch Heidi and Brett exchange vows.

It was then off to the Inn at Fox Hollow in Woodbury, which looked like a winter wonderland with the snow and all the festive lighting and music they had playing outside as guests arrived. I'm not sure if my camera is waterproof, but we braved the elements to get some shots of the falling snow and beauty of this exceptional place for a NYC wedding reception.

NYC wedding photographer Jared Charney from Downing Street Photography took formal photos of the couple and their family while Tim Alan Smith filmed cocktail hour and the set-up of the ballroom. The fantastic NYC wedding band - the 52nd Street Swing- was already practicing and had the crowd on their feet when Heidi and Brett were later introduced with the Black Eyed Pea's "Gotta Feeling".

Tim Alan Smith normally is a NYC wedding videographer, however we do have other requests on occasion. One such request was to film famed chef Marcus Samuelsson (Aquavit in NYC) cooking in the kitchen of his Manhattan home. We were pleased to find out yesterday that Marcus was selected to cook for President Obama's first ever state dinner last night at the White House! Congratulations Marcus! From what we sampled in his kitchen on multiple occasions, we're sure the president's first dinner will be a huge succes!

While Tim Alan Smith is mainly a company focused on being a NYC wedding videographer, we are often asked by clients to put together photos and video clips for a photomontage or family history video. Many times the client is doing this as a surprise anniversary (any special year such as 5th anniversary, 10th anniversary, 20th anniversary, 25th anniversary, 40th anniversary or 50th anniversary celebrations). We are also asked to do them for special birthday milestones as well as graduation or bat/bar mitzvah surprises. We also take VHS clips that you have collected over the years and combine them with photos and music to create that special heirloom video. Some people simple want us to take their photos and put or scan them to a DVD for safe keeping. We can do all of this. Most people realize that their family won't be around forever and want us to come film and interview everyone at a holiday or other special family gathering. Marcy & Barry; November 14, The Metropolitan Pavilion: New York, NY

NYC wedding videographer Tim Alan Smith spent Saturday night filming the wedding of Marcy and Barry at the Metropolitan Pavilion in downtown Manhattan. I have been to the Metropolitan Pavilion many times for the New York Magazine wedding showcase, an annual event for those having a wedding or in the wedding industry. However, this was the first time I have had the chance to film there. Kim Pilson of the Wedding Sitter (full service or day of NYC wedding planner) did an amazing job ensuring romantic ambiance of the space with their choice of decor. The couple saw each other before the ceremony as they took photos under the amazing Chuppah with NYC wedding photographer Alex Z before moving to another room to sign the Ketubah. After that, the couple had exchanged vows under the Chuppah in front of their closest family and friends before a happy exit (pictured above) and cocktail hour. The reception was fun starting with first dance and the Horah with the very entertaining Hank Lane musicians the Russell Bennett Band keeping the crowd on their feet until the very last song!

We just watched the video and it is AMAZING!!! At first I didn't see the separate clip of super 8 footage and all those extras. I love it. you used most of the songs i asked for and I like all the others. funny thing is after i thought about it more I really wanted that version of somewhere over the rainbow, you you used it anyway, which is great! you read my mind. I have to be honest I reallly didn't know what you meant when you kept saying this if for the outtakes the day of the wedding, but we loved the outttakes...so much fun!! If my little sister wasn't in it I have to say everyone else would have lacked, but it all came together great!!!
We really loved everything and it captured the whole day! I dk if I told you but right after you left the dance floor went crazy and one of our friends is famous for breakdancing, and he got down...oh well, we have the memories....

Alex and I were wondering if it would be possible to get a separate disc just for us with the Super 8 clip and then the TAS Signature clip too so we can put them on YouTube and share them with everyone?

Super 8 Video....It never seems to get old!

Although Tim Alan Smith is a NYC wedding videographer and focus mostly on video, we often get asked if we can also shoot super 8 film. The answer is YES! If you don't know what Super 8 is, picture the opening sequence of "The Wonder Years" and it will come back to you quickly. That nostalgic grainy, choppy look of film cameras of the 50's and 60's brings many brides in the door hoping we can create that effect on their wedding video.

Super 8 cameras take actual film and many don't perform well unless it is really well lit, so typically we use for outdoor sequences or inside when the lighting is very good.

This particular wedding was at the Pius X church and Scarsdale with the wedding reception at beautiful Trump National Golf Course in Briarwood Cliff, NY, using both black and white and color film stock.

WEVA Expo: Orlando Florida Wedding Video Conference

I have spent this past week in sunny Orlando attending the WEVA (Wedding and Event Videographers Association) yearly expo at the week-old Orlando Hilton. The WEVA Expo is a yearly tradeshow/seminar for videographers from around the world who gather to share ideas and expertise, network and to learn the new and exciting trends in wedding and event video. Days are long with seminars starting at 8 a.m. and ending at 10 p.m. with a huge tradeshow floor filled with new technology and products/services on display in between. Being a wedding videographer in NYC is great but it's also good to get new perspectives and ideas from artists working around the world. In addition to some new equipment that I purchased (always fun) I have picked up a few ideas and techniques that I think will make my video productions even better moving forward. My only regret this week is that I have been so busy I haven't had time to enjoy a few minutes at the amazing pool!

Josh & Danit; Schlitz Audobon Nature Center: August 1, Milwaukee, Wisconsin

Once in a while I get to attend weddings as a guest, so it was great fun for me to spend the weekend with friends Josh and Danit in Miwaukee a few weeks back at the Schlitz Audobon Nature Center. This is the first of 3 weddings I will be attending this year and even as a guest, I can't help myself from bringing a small camera along! Clients who are fun and want their wedding to embody that spirt of fun, are typically are our favorite weddings at Tim Alan Smith. For Josh & Danit, fun was the theme of the day!

Miriam & Zeyad; The Hotel Pierre; July 11

Miriam & Zayed had a weekend of non-stop partying after exchanging their vows a few weeks ago in a private ceremony with family. It started on Friday night at the Hudson Terrace with Tim Alan Smith & friends and family whogathered to celebrate with the couple before their Saturday wedding at the Hotel Pierre on 5th Avenue. When NYC wedding videographer Tim Alan Smith arrived, the couple was preparing to head to Central Park for some photos with Dante from Great Neck Photographers. The couple then returned to Hotel Pierre where they practiced their tango routine and helped family and friends get all the name cards set for their nearly 500 guests! All then gathered for family photos before guests arrived for cocktails. Miriam headed back to the bridal suite with her sisters to rest up for her grand entrance while Zeyad worked the room and excitedly exchanged calls with Miriam discussing their grand entrance. Dancers and music met Zeyad and his friends as they entered the ballroom to a standing/clapping crowd of family and friends and started what became a non-stop dance party all-night. Beautiful Miriam soon followed escorted by her father and met by Zayed where the festive dancing continued. Total Entertainment's Soul Connection/White Light relieved the Arabic musicians and the two alternated all night to provide a special and unique sound for the wedding night. Other highlights included toasts by Zeyad's two brothers and Miriam's brother, a tribute from Zeyad to his mother and the music and dancing. When Soul Connection announced that the party was ending in the ballroom, it really was just the beginning as guests moved to a new room designed like a NYC club where the party kept going until the wee hours of the night!

Big Apple Awards Video Recap, The Lighthouse at Chelsea Piers; June 30, NYC

On June 30, Tim Alan Smith's NYC corporate video company- Avenue 5 Films- filmed ISES New York Metro's annual gala, The Big Apple Awards at the Lighthouse at Chelsea Piers. Both Avenue 5 Films and Tim Alan Smith were up for award of best NYC event video 2008, with Avenue 5 Films winning. Other winners were NYC photographer Andre Maier , event planner Jess Gordon (Proper Fun), Barkley Kalpak, Total Entertainment and H.G. Lighting and Design to name a few. A few industry legends including Fern Mallis of Mercedes Benz Fashion Week, Candida Romanelli of the NY International Automobile Show and Josh McCall of Jack Morton Worldwide were inducted into the Hall of Legends.

Vanessa & Michael: The Yale Club; NYC

Vanessa & Michael got married at one of NYC wedding videographer Tim Alan Smith's favorite NYC wedding locations- The Yale Club- on a beautiful Sunday in June. When I arrived in the bridal suite, Vanessa was getting her hair and make-up done and bridesmaids were arriving. NYC wedding photographer Lina Jang was already there to document the transformation. (her photo is above). Nervous groom-to-be, Michael, was waiting patiently in the ornate lobby of the NYC Yale Club for his beautiful bride. We made Michael wait at the bottom of the grand staircase with his back turn as Vanessa glided down in her beautiful gown. His eyes beamed when he saw his beautiful bride and then we all headed to Grand Central and then Bryant Park for some more photos and video before heading back to the Yale Club for photos on the rooftop balcony. The ceremony was held in the historic library of the Yale Club which proved to be a unique and beautiful spot for the couple to exchange vows. After that it was cocktail hour and then a night of revelry with entertainment provided by an excellent DJ team from Hal Prince. All and all, a night to remember for all those involved!

Lauren & Alex: St. Pius X Church in Scarsdale and Trump National Golf Course, June 27

When I arrived at Lauren’s sister’s home on the after of June 27, Lauren was still getting her hair done and none of the girls had put on their dresses yet. Over the next hour the women all transformed into a beautiful bride and her bridesmaids as NYC wedding videographer Tim Alan Smith and NYC wedding photographer Jason Walz documented the transformation. (his photo above) Groom- Alex- was getting ready at a hotel and documented by another photgrapher as well as second Tim Alan Smith videographer. The couple then headed for St. Pius X Church in Scarsdale where vows were exchanged and all was great except for a little confusion as to where the statue of Mary was for the couple to say a prayer! After a celebratory toast in their limo, the couple headed to Trump National Golf Club in Briarwood Cliff where the reception was held. The amzing weather and backdrop of the course proved great for photographer Jason Walz and Tim Alan Smith as they documented the couple on the beautiful golf course. Cocktails were next and the amazing food and views from the back patio were the perfect setting to enjoy delicious food and mouth-watering cocktails on the most beautiful day of June. Wedding planner Elaine DeLuca of Exquisite Events New York made sure everything flowed seamlessly on the day including transitioning guests the beautiful reception room. After the introduction of the beaming couple they performed a well-choreographed dance and the Starlight Orchestra kept everyone dancing all night. Other highlights included Lauren's dad's very emotional toast, sister Victoria's amazing solo and the toast from the bride and groom thanking all of their guests. All in all a night that won't soon be forgotten!

Alicia & Rich didn't allow a little rain to dampen their spirits on June 20. The couple had intermittent rain during the day but was still able to get some shots outside the St. Regis Hotel and The Church of St. Ignatius Loyola from NYC wedding photographer Christopher Duggan of Threshold Visions Photography. (His photo above). The couple both got ready at the St. Regis before taking limos separately to St. Ignatius, where a beautiful ceremony took place. Tim Alan Smith and Christopher Duggan were able to capture beautiful images of the couple as they exchanged vows and rings in front of their closest family and friends. After some photos inside and outside St. Ignatius Loyola, the couple and their wedding party headed the St. Regis Hotel for more photos and the amazing cocktail hour. One of Hank Lane's best- and one of my personal favorites- the Michael Hart Band, welcomed the couple into the reception and entertained the guests with their great covers of both classic and modern favorites.

Last night, Tim Alan Smith's NYC corporate company- Avenue 5 Films- took home best NYC event video at the annual ISES Big Apple Awards Gala honoring the top NYC event vendors for our coverage of the Biz Bash Event Style Expo last October. ISES (International Special Events Society) is a international organization of special event talent with the NYC chapter hosting last night's event. This year the event was held at the Lighthouse at Chelsea Piers, where Tim Alan Smith has filmed plenty of NYC weddings and other events over the years. Marian & Chris; St. Patrick's Cathedral & The University Club: May 30, NYC

Marian & Chris had two great places to enjoy their wedding day in NYC, starting with world-famous St. Patrick's Cathedral on 5th Avenue and University Club right after. Tim Alan Smith videographer- Lu K- was there to capture the beaming Marian as she came down the VERY long aisle to meet an excited Chris. Onlookers that included strangers and passers-by watched the happy couple exchange vows and cheered for them as they exited the historical St. Patrick's Cathedral at the end of the ceremony. After greeting guests near 5th Avenue, the couple had photos taken by Matt Gillis in both Central Park and the University Club. After that, it was time for cocktails and an evening of revelry (with great music by the Alex Donner Band!) that won't soon be forgotten by anyone attending this amazing NYC wedding!

While the subject of this post sounds a little bit like the answer to a riddle, it's actually referring to how I spent last Friday morning. I used to teach at an elementary school in the Bronx before I got into videography full time. As a teacher, I filmed the moving up/graduation ceremonies for the kids and continue to do so every June for PS 106 in the Bronx. This year I stopped by the 5th grade "prom" at Maestro's catering in the Bronx to get some footage of them dancing and having fun with teacher/DJ Mr. Chin at the mike with All Night Long Entertainment. Rumors started swirling that Mayor Bloomberg was in another room at Maestro's to deliver the keynote speech for Aflac insurance company. The combination of good timing and convincing teacher pleas resulted in the mayor of NYC coming in to say a few words to the stunned 5th graders. Tim Alan Smith was happy to have the chance to film the mayor and shook his hand and told him to "keep up the good work" as he left to tend to his mayoral duties. The video below is a quick highlight of the dancing kids followed by a few words from Mayor Bloomberg.

Melanie & Nick: The University Church at Fordham, May 30, 2009, New York City

Melanie & Nick had a glorious day for their ceremony at the University Church at Fordham University in the Bronx. Melanie wiped away a tear during her vows (see video) which was a touching moment but the couple was all smiles at they exited the church to the cheers of family and friends. Melanie and Nick had met as students at Fordham years back so photos and video on campus were a must. Rich Janiello from Ciro Photography in New Rochelle and Tim Alan Smith had a great time with the couple near the historic landmarks on campus. After photos it was off to The Fountainhead in New Rochelle where a night of dancing, toasts and overall fun was had by all!

Rich & Pat Smith: 40 year Anniversary June 15, 2009

I'd like to wish my parents a happy 40th anniversary in this forum as today marks 40 years to the day that they exchanged their vows at the Manor in East Orange, NJ. (Where I actually filmed for the first time last June!) Every year I film plenty of weddings but felt my parents' 40th anniversary would be a unique event worth celebrating as well. For the last 3 or 4 months I have been planning a big surprise party at their house to mark the achievement. It was difficult keeping the 70 family and friends from spilling the beans but all did a good job because my parents were still clueless as we ate lunch at a local restaurant near their house yesterday afternoon. Meanwhile the neighbors decorated the house while the catering truck and bartender stocked the the place with food and drink. When we returned from lunch the front lawn was filled with cheering friends as well as a Tim Alan Smith videographer and photographer Rachel Miranda to capture their arrival. They were stunned and admitted that they had absolutely no idea. The weather was beautiful for the first time in over a week and everyone had a day of laughs, fun and good food/drinks. Here's to many, many more!

Tim Alan Smith nomiated for 2 "Big Apple Awards" for best NYC event video in 2008

Each June, The New York Metro Chapter of the International Special Events Society (ISES) holds the much-anticipated gala, the Big Apple Awards. This year the Big Apple Awards will be held on June 30 at Pier 61 at Chelsea Piers. The Big Apple Awards are effectively the "Oscars" of the NYC event industry with categories including best social event over $1000 per guest, best new venue, best invitation design, best entertainment program/concept, best table top design, best set design and best photographic image amongst others.

We submitted a 2008 wedding at the Rainbow Room between Ralph and Priya, Vera Wang's personal assistant as well as a corporate video from Tim Alan Smith NYC corporate videographer company, Avenue 5 Films. Both were nominated! Similar to the Oscars and other award events, there are only 3 or 4 nominated for each category, so we are very pleased to be 2 of those nominees!

Tim Alan Smith films famed chef Marcus Samuelsson in his apartment

Tim Alan Smith loves filming weddings but every once in a while we get other projects that take us outside the realm of vows, rings and first dances. A few weeks ago was once such day when I spent the day with world-famous chef- Marcus Samuelsson- in his amazing uptown apartment. Marcus is a television presence with his cooking shows but is best known as chef at downtown hotspot Aquavit as well as other restaurants around the world. Photographer and friend- Jirel McClinton from A Raisin in the Sun Photography- was also there to capture Marcus in action. The goal of the shoot was to have Marcus teach owners of the amazing Blue Star Oven how to best maximize its potential. Along the way, Jirel, Keith from Blue Star, my assistant Gina and yours truly got to sample some of Macus's creations. We even took a lunch break at a local restaurant with Marcus where we ate even MORE food. In addition to joking with Marucs and picking up some tips throughout the day, a highlight had to be when Marcus gave one of my recipe suggestions a thumbs up!

Romita & Wilson: The Westbury Manor; May 15

Romita and Wilson had a beautiful day last Friday for what was the start of the best weekend of their lives. After getting married at the Westbury Manor in front of their closest family and friends, the couple also graduated from medical school two days later. Many of their classmates were at the Westbury Manor to support them including the best man. The beautiful gardens and rooms of the Westbury Manor were the perfect backdrop for photos by Kellie and Rupert from 4 Eyes Photography in Manhattan as well as NYC wedding videographer Tim Alan Smith. The highlight below is through the end of the ceremony.

Tim Alan Smith has moved office location

Tim Alan Smith has moved office space to 419 Lafayette Street as of May 1. After 3 years on West 21st, we decided to change locations when a great opportunity arose. The new office is one block from the Astor place stop on the 6 train (near the spinning black cube) and also just blocks from the B,D,F,V,R and W trains. Part of the reason for the move is that by being a NYC wedding videographer, Tim Alan Smith has wedding video clients from all over NYC. The new address will make it easy for Brooklyn brides as well as those from midtown or lower Manhattan to access. We are also available for meetings at the upper east side location on 95th and 3rd avenue for those who live on the upper east or upper west sides. We look forward to meeting you at either space and getting to hear more about about your wedding day!
